Berachain Goes Live with Mainnet and $632M BERA Airdrop
Berachain, a proof-of-liquidity Layer 1 blockchain, has officially launched its Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible mainnet on Feb. 6, alongside an estimated $632 million airdrop of its BERA token.

In a Feb. 5 announcement on X, the Berachain Foundation confirmed that 79 million BERA tokens would be distributed to eligible users as part of its initial Genesis supply of 500 million tokens.
Who’s Eligible for the Airdrop?
Users can check their allocation on the Berachain airdrop checker, with initial claims starting on Feb. 6. However, those who earned allocations from social engagement and Request for Broposal users will only be able to claim starting Feb. 10.
The largest portion of the airdrop will be allocated to Bong Bears NFT holders and affiliated NFT projects such as Bond, Boo, Baby, Band, and Bit Bears.

At the time of the announcement, BERA has not yet launched on spot markets, but futures contracts on Aevo indicate a price of $8 per token, bringing the airdrop’s estimated value to $632 million—though pre-launch futures prices remain highly volatile.
