OKX has indicated that the maximum supply of PI tokens is 100 billion. At current prices, this valuation places PI’s market capitalization at approximately $150 billion, positioning it among the top three projects by market cap.
Pi Network was initiated by a group of researchers from Stanford University on March 14, 2019, aiming to create a cryptocurrency that can be mined on mobile devices without significant resource consumption. In December 2021, Pi Network launched its Mainnet in an “Enclosed” mode, allowing transactions only within its internal ecosystem without connections to external blockchains.
The upcoming listing on OKX marks a significant milestone for Pi Network, potentially enhancing its visibility and accessibility in the broader cryptocurrency market.
